     2000 Inductees

    PAUL FOXSON - ANDY ILIFF - PATRICK McGRATH

        PAUL FOXSON 

    A 1989 Graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, he lettered all four years in Football, Basketball and Track & Field.  Selected All West Jersey First Team for three years in those sports; All State in Football and Track for two years and All State in Basketball for one year.  A 1993 Graduate of the University of North Carolina receiving a full scholarship for Track & Field Decathlon.  Selected All ACC for four years; Division I All American; finished 2nd in Jr. National Championship, 14th in World Jr. Championship at Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 12th in 1992 Olympic Trials; 1st PLACE 4x400 Relay and 3rd in Javelin at the Maccabiah Games in Tel Aviv, Israel.  During 1994-1998 was ranked #1 Decathlete in the World for three months, ranked #5 in USA and 12th in the World by Track & Field News.  Finished 6th in Heptathlon at U.S. Indoor Nationals and was Vault Champion at Reno Pole Vaulters Summit.  Best Decathlon score was 8,234 points.

    ANDY ILIFF 

    A 1987 Graduate of Newton High School, he lettered in Track & Field in 1986-87, Football in 1986-87 and in Wrestling in 1984-1987.  In Wrestling, he was New Jersey State Champion at 149 lbs. in 1986 and 159 lbs. in 1987 and was selected All Area in 1985-87 with an overall High School Career record of 95-14-3.  Was chosen by the New Jersey Herald s the Male Athlete of the Year in 1987.  A 1991 Graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he lettered in Wrestling in 1990-1991, was undefeated in intra squad boxing at Heavyweight and was runner up in the Brigade Boxing Tournament at 190 lbs.  After college, he placed 1st in Wrestling at the Hanua and the Baumholder Open Tournaments.  He has coached Wrestling with the Army Community Wrestling Team in Germany form 1993-1995, with Fort Knox High School from 1996-1997 and with Newton Elementary School from 1999 to present.  He served as strength coach at Kittatinny Regional H.S. in 1999-2000.  He was selected by the Newark Star Ledger for the New Jersey All Century Wrestling Team during the 1980’s.

    PATRICK McGRATH 

    A 1954 Graduate of Chiton High School in Chiton, Wisconsin, he received All State and All Conference recognition in Football.  Graduated from Marquette University where he competed in Football, Wrestling and Handball.  He finished 4th in a National NCAA Handball Tournament.  Coached Football, Wrestling and Golf at the high school level prior to assuming coaching positions at Franklin High School in Football, Wrestling, Soccer and Track & Field.  Coached Cross Country at Wallkill Valley Regional High School and Soccer at Sussex County Community College.  He was certified in 1975 as a USSF Soccer Official for High School and Semi Pro Games.  He authored “The History of Newton Wrestling” and co-authored “The History of Sparta Football.
