Frank Boglioli –

He was a sports participant at Newton
High School.
During the 1940’s and 1950’s he
became a staunch supporter of the Newton A.A. Semi Pro Baseball
team. He successfully organized and managed the Newton A.A.
Favorable results in the win column
necessitated the team to schedule superior semi pro league
competition.
He was a loyal supporter of the
Junior Playground baseball program at Memory Park.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Service
during the period of World War I and was assigned to duty with the
107th Aerial Service Squadron.
He was a member of the American
Legion Post 86, the Knights of Columbus, No. 486, a Charter Member
of the Elks Club 112 and a member of the Kittatinny Hose Co. No. 1
of Newton.

Graduated from Beachlake High School
in Pa in 1942, From 1942-46 he served in the US Navy. In 1950 he
graduated from North East Missouri State University. In 1954 he
graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery
and in 1952-54 became Sports medicine Trainee at NEMU. Then in
1954-55 became Sports Medicine physician Trainee at NEMU.
In 1955 he opened Family Medical
Practice in Sparta, NJ and became Athletic Physician for Sparta High
School from 1960 to 1995. Was appointed New Jersey State Athletic
Commission Physician from 1965 to 1997. He is a Life Member of the
American Medical Association of Sports Medicine and a Life Member of
the American Osteopathic Association of Sports Medicine.

GRADUATED FROM FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL
IN 1933. EARNED VARSITY LETTERS IN FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL AND
BASEBALL AND WAS ONE OF THE ACTING CAPTAINS IN EACH OF THE SPORTS.
IN 1932, G.A. FALZER, SPORTS EDITOR OF THE NEWARK SUNDAY CALL
SELECTED HIM ALL STATE, 2ND CLASS B TEAM AT FULLBACK.
THE JERSEY JOURNAL SPORTS EDITOR NAMED ANDREW FULLBACK OF FRANKLIN
HIGH SCHOOL, 1ST POSITION ON THE ALL NORTH JERSEY TEAM
AND 2ND PLACE IN THE ALL STATE TEAM.
IN SEPTEMBER 1933 HE RECEIVED A
FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP TO ATTEND ALBRIGHT COLLEGE WHERE HE BECAME THE
STARTING FULLBACK ON THE FRESHMAN TEAM. HE WAS ACTIVE IN YOUTH
SPORTS PROGRAMS AND HELPED ORGANIZE JUNIOR BASEBALL TEAMS IN
SUSSEX.
HE SERVED IN THE NAVY DURING WORLD
WAR II IN THE EUROPEAN THEATRE AS AN E/M IN THE SEABEES. HE WAS A
VFW MEMBER IN SUSSEX AND WAS ACTIVE IN HELPING VETERANS WHO NEEDED
ASSISTANCE. |
