     Chris Jent - DIANE SPENCER - JAMES WOODS 

        Chris Jent 

    Attended Sparta High School 1984-88 where he lettered in basketball and became the all-time leading scorer in Sussex County & Sussex County Interscholastic League boys basketball with 2,287 points.  He was named Pre-Season High Honorable Mention by the Nike Shoe Company, Pre-Season 3rd Team All American by Basketball Annual Magazine, Pre-Season 2nd Team All American by Big East Basketball Magazine and Pre-Season Top 50 High School Seniors by Star Sports Magazine in the 1987-88 season. 

    He attended and graduated from Ohio State University where he earned 4 varsity letters in basketball and in 1992 played on the Big Ten TOURNAMENT Championship Team. 

    In 1994 was signed by the Houston Rockets of the NBA as an undrafted FREE agent, playING in 3 regular season games averaging 10 ppg. Played in the 1994 NBA playoff finals against the NY Knicks and earned a Championship Ring.  In 1996-97 played for the NY Knicks for 3 regular season games averaging 2 ppg. 

    Chris also played in the Continental League earning CBA All Star Honors with the Columbus Horizon averaging 19 ppg.  He also played in the Italian and AustrIAn League abroad.

    DIANE SPENCER

    ATTENDED NEWTON HIGH SCHOOL 1960-1964 WHERE SHE PARTICIPATED IN SOFTBALL, BASKETBALL AND TRACK & FIELD.  SHE ATTENDED ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE 1965-67.

    DIANE ATTENDED AND GRADUATED FROM TENNESSEE TECH UNIVERSITY WITH A MA, BS IN HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION.  IN 1968 PLAYED VARSITY VOLLEYBALL AND SOFTBALL.

    TAUGHT AT POPE JOHN XXIII HIGH SCHOOL IN 1970-79 AND WAS HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CHAIRPERSON.  DIANE COACHED SOFTBALL AND HER TEAM BECAME THE FIRST EVER S.C.I.L. CHAMPIONS.

    SHE COACHED GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL BEING NAMED COACH OF THE YEAR IN 1973-74 & 1974-75.

    AT GLASSBORO STATE COLLEGE SHE COACHED VARSITY BASKETBALL DURING THE 1982 AND 1983 SEASONS.  BECAME A MEMBER OF THE N.J. COACHES ASSN. AND THE SOUTH JERSEY COACHES ASSN.

    LATER SHE ALSO COACHED J.V. TENNIS & LACROSSE.  COACHED VARSITY SOFTBALL WINNING THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1983.  CO-CHAMPS OF THE NJAIAW IN 1992.  NCAA DIV. 3 RANKING OF #2 AND #1 RANKING IN THE MID-EAST REGION WITH A 19-1 RECORD.  TEAM CAME IN 4TH PLACE IN THE EAST REGIONAL.

    SOME OF DIANEíS OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE BEING AN OFFICER, PLAYER & COACH IN THE SUCO WOMENíS SOFTBALL LEAGUE, BEING NAMED ALL-STAR 7 TIMES, MVP & BATTING CHAMP.

    DIANE WS A WOMENíS BOWLING LEAGUE PRESIDENT AND AMERICAN JUNIOR BOWLING CONGRESS INSTRUCTOR. 

    SHE RAN MANY CLINICS FOR THE TOWN OF NEWTON ON SOFTBALL, BASKETBALL & FIELD HOCKEY.  SHE ALSO INSTRUCTED ARCHERY AT YMCA CAMPS AT BEAR MT. NY.

    AT THE PRESENT SHE HAS A MASTERS DEGREE IN PRINCIPAL/SUPERVISORíS CERTIFICATION AND IS EMPLOYED AT NORTH WARREN REG. H.S. AT SUPERVISOR OF APPLIED STUDIES AND PERFORMING ARTS.

    JAMES WOODS 

    ATTENDED NEWTON HIGH SCHOOL 1941-45 EARNING 4 VARSITY LETTERS IN WRESTLING.  IN 1943 AND 1944 WAS NEW JERSEY STATE WRESTLING TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALIST AND IN 1945 WON THE STATE TITLE WRESTLING IN THE 128 LB. CLASS.

    JIM ALSO LETTERED IN FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL FROM 1943-45, PLAYING ON THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN BASEBALL 1945.  ATTENDED BLAIR ACADEMY 1945-46 PLAYING FOOTBALL, WRESTLING AND BASEBALL.

    IN 1946 HE WAS UNDEFEATED IN WRESTLING AND WON THE NATIONAL PREP SCHOOL WRESTLING TITLE.  JIM COACHED THE 11TH DIVISION WRESTLING TEAM WHILE SERVICE IN THE U.S. ARMY.

    ATTENDED AND GRADUATED FROM GETTYSBURG COLLEGE WHERE HE WON THE MIDATLANTIC COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN WRESTLING DURING HIS SOPHOMORE AND JUNIOR YEARS.  LATER HE COACHED THE TEAM TO THE MIDATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP.

    IN ADDITION HE HAS WON VARIOUS GOLF CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS AND HAS PLAYED IN MANY SOFTBALL LEAGUES IN NJ, NY, PA.  JIM ALSO HAS COACHED ELEMENTARY WRESTLING FOR SEVERAL SEASONS.
